The Old Lady Joins the Battle
Unlikely as it sounds, I have joined a sitewar as a 'Scottish' warrior. How could this have happened, I hear you ask. Well, it all started with this nifty award and an invitation from Bonnie to join the Brigadoon team.

I took a pledge that I would not vote for a site which I had not visited.
An Early Triumph

Yes, the old lady made it over Hadrian's Wall and in the process achieved Chieftain status!

I am now headed for Bannockburn, and if you would like to help me out with a wee vote, click on the banner after 1pm Eastern time and vote for the Old Lady.

The Week of September 24
Well, the old lady's still at Bannockburn, but she received an award for her Brigadoon spirit page, indicating that she has the soul of a warrior but perhaps the physique of a couch potato. Please feel free to give her a wee push by voting for her this week.
September 30. 2001
Well, the dear old soul made it past Bannockburn and is now at Culloden. A wee vote or two would her along. Tap on the Blessed Thistle and add your support to the valiant geriatric warrior.
Hae a Braw Halloween!
The old lady is hoping that this is not an omen about the battle for Culloden, but if you click on her tombstone, you will find some seasonal fun.
Week of October 7, 2001 - They can take away ma website but they canna take away ma spirit!
Well, the poor old girl has been having a bad time with her web server. Her site disappeared and so did your server. Well, all is well again but for how long?

Well, at any rate, the old dear is still bravely toiling at Culloden. She got a beautiful award for her spirit, embodied in some really creative (ie. Bad) rhymes and outright doggeral. however, she's proud to be a Brigadooner and we all canna be Rabbie Burns.

Now, Culloden is a grand place but if you could spare a wee vote it might propel the old girl into orbit; some hae said she's oot o this world already.

I may hae to get a bigger tam-o-shanter!
Well, once a humble, mild mannered old lady from a rural paradise, I am now joining yet another battle. If you would like to vote for me just push the wee button.
The Old Girl Heads Off Into Cyberspace
Well, I've joined the Star Scrolls. I go around to the warriors spreading joy and cheer. Think of a plump, elderly faerie in glasses with a knitting needle wand and you'll have the picture (more or less).
Week of October 14, 2001
Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather this morning when I opened my mail. I found I had won seven highland warriors. Now, at my age I'm not sure what I would do with them. True, the lawn could do with a trim but that would surely not be enough. However, I was somewhat relieved to find that I had won a spirit award and not the actual warriors.

I'm still holding on at Culloden so a wee vote now and then would be appreciated.

What Next, You Ask
Well, just when I thought I had the seven warriors figured out, I was told I could save a pair of lovers from the kelpie. A kelpie is very bad news, so of course, I agreed. I saved Mel Gibson (oops) I mean William Wallace and his lady love. And I hadn't even had breakfast!
Belated Update
Well, Culloden proved to be too much for the poor old soul, so she's now at Stirling Brig. However, she got an award for her spirit page on October28. Incidentally, the kelpie was at it again, and she had to rescue Rabbie Burns and friend. This is getting to be a full time job, but she'up for it. After all, we poets must stick together.
More Spirit, More Warriors
Well, the old girl has six more highland warriors to contend with. She can use the help around the yard, but the food bill is getting out of hand. Oh well, that's the price of haggis!

Unfortunately I have had to withdraw from the wars for the moment, but it was such fun I decided to leave my page intact in hopes that others might have a look in at Brigadoon.
